On the evening of January 9, 2018 the Kansas State Conference Leadership voted to send a letter to KS Speaker of the House Rep.Ron Ryckman, requesting the most stringent reprimand possible for Rep. Alford.
Attached is that letter.
We recognize that policy decisions hurt deeper and have far greater impact than any inaccurate ill-chosen statement ever could!
That is why we have asked Rep. Ryckman to see this as an opportunity to strengthen our elected official’s knowledge base about culturally sensitive issues and to make sure that they are provided diversity and inclusion training.
